This is an excelent historical account by Walter D. Edmonds which describes the history of the US Air Forces in the Philippines and Java in the last days of 1941 and 1942. Eight pages describe the desperate escape of the ground troops with Abbekerk and are displayed here.
But I can really recommend to everybody reading the whole story of this very unknown part of WWII.
